Usability

What is usability? Usability is the ease or capable of being used, of a human made object. Those objects could be a website, application or program, a book, a machine, or anything a human interacts with. With usability it can make one create a website, for example, with much ease while saving a lot of time. What I learned from usability was how I can better put together my website and make it look good and comprehensive. The first thing I learned was how to better connect my navigation side of the web page, which meant links to other pages. All links should be of one color or one form so the user can identify what and what not is a link, and where. The link should also respond back to the user for what the link is made for, such as for example the link “home” should return the user back to the home page upon request, meaning the links in a webpage should have consistency. Another factor that I learned was your webpage should be clearly stated so users know where they are and what they can expect from it. Last but not least, a website should always have a contact feedback form so that users can better comment about your website so that you can fix up the little mistakes you make in your webpages.

Tablet PCs vs. Laptops

As we all know, the world is advancing, technologically, every year. Remember back in the days where people would sit on those big laptops, and carry those humongous phones with them all the time?, and those Computers that would run slow and run on a dial-up connection for surfing the net? Technology has advanced greatly. It has replaced all big, bulky slow machines with more portable, compact, and speedy devices. Laptops are becoming lightweight and powerful in processing speeds, leaving users with more multitasking power. New and innovative technology has brought us to tablet computing – portable handheld devices with the capabilities of a computer. Laptops were good until tablets came along. Laptops became just as powerful as desktop PCs, with less weight and thickness. They also became available in widescreen formats with capabilities of an entertainment center, gaming power, and also touch capabilities. It wasn’t too long when tablet PCs were introduced and overtook the lives of the laptops and overpowered them with new features. Tablet PCs were the new generation of computing and quickly became popular. They were far greater than UMPC’s (Ultra Mobile Personal Computer) and sophistically better than laptops. Tablet PCs had the ability to do what major laptops and desktop computers could to, the only difference was the it was much lighter, compact, touch screen, and user friendly. Portability of the tablets was a no breeze, anyone could just put it in their bags, purses or even pockets. Tablet PCs are now available under in many major companies such as apple, dell, etc and available in multiple OS platforms such as Ipad, android, etc.

Computers in Chicago

Computers are introduced widely everywhere, it is used by many different organizations and companies and in many different places. A lot places computers are being used by many people such as internet café’s, Comed electrical company, People’s Gas companies and lots more. The uttermost places I know where computers are used are cafés and traveling agencies. Internet cafés offer the ability to email, chat, watch movies, play games, word processing, and etc at hourly rate charges. Travelling Agencies use the computers for scheduling and booking trips and ticketing out of country destinations. Computers there are used more often as apposed to internet cafés because they’re always busy in dealing with overseas trips and booking.
